AirNow is proud to announce the grand prize winner of AirNow Cool Kids — Lydia — winner of $500 in groceries.
“Lydia has a caring heart that strives to help others,” her contest entry states. “She shows kindness and compassion to those in need by helping with the blood cancer fundraiser, the food drive for the Welcome Center in Millbrook, and by assisting her classmates with schoolwork.”
AirNow also congratulations finalists Chase and Ileana and to all of the wonderful young people who had entered AirNow Cool Kids.
AirNow launched the contest in January 2014 to recognize the lives, hopes, talents and value of the many, young residents in the AirNow service areas of Montgomery, Autauga, Lowndes and Elmore Counties. Fans of AirNow’s Facebook page voted to select the winner among three finalists.
Grandparents and parents in the AirNow Cooling & Heating service areas of Montgomery, Autauga, Lowndes and Elmore Counties were encouraged to nominate kids for AirNow Cool Kids. Entrants were asked to complete a brief form that included a description of their cool kid and why they deserve recognition, along with a photo or video by March 31. AirNow employees narrowed the entrants to three finalists. Voting ended April 30.
“Every time I log into Facebook, I enjoy seeing posts from proud parents about their kids,” Terry Barrett of AirNow, said. “There are so many great kids and families in our community that AirNow wanted to reward them so we launched the Cool Kids contest with the winner receiving $500 in free groceries. AirNow might help keep kids feeling cool in their homes, but we can’t compete with our community’s Cool Kids,” Barrett said.
